I want to sincerely appreciate you and your team for the life changing sessions i had while a student at Centonomy.
My life and overall outlook of life has changed and the mantra when life hands you a lemon, make a lemonade out of it.
I am in full time employment and had never managed to invest or save a good amount.
Before Centonomy i had wanted to join school and do my masters of course i was pegging this on a loan or my company to help off set this… This didnt happen as the bank declined to process my loan for no obvious reasons and also my employer who had promised to also finance said the company was going through turbulent times..the tourism industry hence everything was put on hold. This was a blessing in disguise
Then Centonomy came a long……In centonomy i learnt about the spending tracker and budgeting with targets in mind.
I used to spend almost all my salary month on month.
Fast forward to today….
I have managed to put aside Ksh. 328,000 from January to date..on the same salary that i have had for the past 4 years as below:
I have enrolled for my masters…and have paid a commitment fee of Ksh. 153,000
As i need an extra Ksh. 235,000 by August when i start classes…i have so far put Ksh. 125,000 in a money market fund as a parking lot as it earns interest..so far and intent to continue depositing ksh. 50,000 per month till then.
I have put Ksh. 50,000 so far in an equity fund and hope to continue this trend with a 10k per month.
Indeed, knowledge is power….
